Parapet Wall & Coping Repair

The parapet is the most exposed masonry on a building. We repair and rebuild parapets and replace coping so the roof edge stays watertight and secure.

Parapets take weather from both sides and the top, so they deteriorate faster than the walls below. Cracked or missing coping lets water into the wall, mortar washes out, bricks loosen and the parapet can lean. Water from a failing parapet often shows up as leaks at the top floor.

We repoint and repair parapets that are sound, rebuild those that are leaning or loose, and replace or reset coping stones with proper joints and flashing details. Loose masonry at a roof edge is a safety issue, so we treat it as a priority.

Buildings over six stories that fall under NYC facade inspection rules may find parapet conditions in their facade report. See Local Law 11 facade work.
