Concrete Patios in Queens & NYC

New backyard patios and tear-out-and-repour replacements, poured on a compacted base and sloped to drain — with broom, smooth, exposed aggregate or stamped finishes.

JBS Concrete Pros builds concrete patios for NYC homes — backyard slabs, side yards, patio steps and walkways — and replaces old patios that have cracked, sunk or started sending water toward the house. We handle the tear-out, haul the debris in our own containers, and pour a new slab sloped to drain. JBS Concrete Pros is licensed and insured, and holds both a contractor license and a sidewalk license.

Patio work

New patios & replacements.

New backyard patios

Laid out to fit your yard, with slope away from the house and joints placed on a sensible grid.

Tear-out & repour

Old cracked or sunken slabs removed, base corrected, new slab poured full depth.

Finishes

Broom, smooth trowel, exposed aggregate, colored, or stamped concrete.

Walkways & side yards

Connecting paths, side-yard slabs and garbage-can pads.

Patio steps

Steps from the back door or deck down to the patio — see stoops & steps.

Drainage

Slope, and where needed a drain, so water leaves the patio instead of the basement.

Extensions & pads

Extend an existing patio, or pour a pad for a grill, shed or hot tub as part of the job.

Process

How a JBS patio goes in.

  1. Site visit. We measure, check where water goes today, and talk through size, finish and access.
  2. Written estimate. An itemized estimate for the scope we agreed.
  3. Demo & base. Old slab out, subgrade dug to depth and compacted with gravel.
  4. Forms & pour. Forms set to slope, reinforcement where needed, concrete poured and finished.
  5. Joints & cure. Control joints cut or tooled; we tell you when it's ready for foot traffic and furniture.

FAQ

Concrete patio questions

What finish options are there for a concrete patio?

Broom finish is the most common and gives good grip. Smooth trowel, exposed aggregate, colored concrete and stamped patterns are also options. We help you choose based on looks, slip resistance and upkeep.

Do I need a permit for a backyard concrete patio in NYC?

It depends on the scope and the property, for example if the work changes drainage, involves structural work, or is part of a larger alteration. We'll tell you at the site visit if we believe a permit or filing is involved for your job.

How long before I can use a new patio?

Light foot traffic is usually fine after a day or two, and furniture after about a week, depending on weather. Concrete keeps gaining strength for weeks after the pour.

Can you fix my old patio instead of replacing it?

Small cracks and minor surface wear can sometimes be repaired. If the slab has sunk, pitches water toward the house, or is broken through, removing it and repouring on a proper base is usually the lasting fix.

Can you also take away the old concrete?

Yes. Because JBS runs its own roll-off containers, demolition debris from a patio tear-out goes straight into our own dumpster.
