Concrete Work

Paver Driveways, Walkways & Patios

Interlocking pavers for driveways, side yards, walkways, patios and borders, laid on a base built to stay flat.

Pavers are individual concrete units laid in a pattern. They come in many colors and shapes, they can be lifted and relaid if something underneath needs repair, and a well-built paver surface holds up to New York freeze and thaw.

Like any surface, pavers fail when the base fails. We excavate, build a compacted base (or pour a concrete base where the job calls for it), set edge restraints so the field cannot spread, screed the bedding layer, lay the pattern, cut the edges and lock it all in with joint sand.

Pavers pair well with concrete: a concrete sidewalk with a paver border, a paver driveway with a concrete apron, or a paver patio off a new concrete walkway. We plan the layout and drainage with you on site.

Frequently asked questions

Pavers or concrete: which is better?

Both last when built right. Pavers cost more but can be repaired in sections and offer more design options; concrete is a single slab at a lower price. We show you both.

Why do some paver driveways sink?

Usually a thin or poorly compacted base. We build the base for the load the surface will carry.

Do weeds grow between pavers?

Proper joint sand and occasional maintenance keep weeds down. We explain upkeep for your surface.
