Foundation Repair

Cracked or bowing foundation walls, water intrusion, settling — diagnosed at a free site visit and repaired with the right structural fix, not a cosmetic patch.

Foundation problems announce themselves upstairs: doors that stop closing, stair-step cracks in brick, damp basement corners. The fix depends on the cause — soil movement, water, or an undersized original footing — so we start with eyes on the actual foundation.

JBS repairs cracked and bowing foundation walls, chronic water intrusion paths, and settled or spalling structural concrete across Queens, Brooklyn and nearby. Where a repair needs engineered drawings and DOB filing, we tell you up front and handle the paperwork side of the job.

We'd rather lose a job than oversell one: if your crack is cosmetic shrinkage, we'll say so.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if a foundation crack is serious?

Width, direction and movement matter: hairline vertical shrinkage cracks are common; horizontal cracks, stair-step cracks in block, or any crack that's growing deserve a professional look. The site visit is free.

Does foundation repair require permits?

Cosmetic crack repair generally doesn't; structural repairs can require DOB filing with engineered drawings. We identify which bucket your job is in before any work starts.

My basement leaks — is that a foundation problem?

Sometimes. Water can enter through wall cracks, the wall-slab joint, or from grading and gutter problems outside. We trace the path before proposing a fix.

Pouring a new slab or addition instead? Ask about structural concrete when you call.
